-
- I bought a MicroniK Infinitiv tower case for my 1200 at the World of Amiga show in London on
- Sunday, along with the Z1 busboard (5 Zorro II slots, 3 PC/AT/ISA slots, one slot I can't
- tell what it is), a power supply, a Top-Case (fits on top, provides more drive bays as well
- as room for an accelerator), and a PCMCIA adapter (right angle, so I can use PCMCIA cards).
- Unfortunately, MicroniK didn't have any Top-Cases nor any PCMCIA adapters with them, and my
- package was missing some mounting screws, so they're on their way over from Germany now.
-
- Anyway, I got it home, took a look at it, played with it for a bit, and realised that there
- were no instructions included. `No worries', I thought, `I'll give it a go anyway.' So I
- attempted to install the thing last night. I put the keyboard in its case, installed the
- floppy and hard drives in bays, pulled the motherboard out of my computer, put it in the
- mainboard carrier frame (with some difficulty), slid it in the case, installed the busboard,
- and hooked up what cables I could.
-
- Unfortunately, though a nice long floppy drive cable is provided, there was no IDE cable, so
- I was reduced to using my existing one (from a 3.5" drive). This cable only just reaches
- from the motherboard IDE connector to my drive (in the topmost rear bay (and the screwholes
- don't line up, BTW---this is a Samsung 1.27 `GB' drive, model STG-something)), covering all
- of my lovely slots. :-(( And the nice German chap who answered all my questions showed me a
- machine with the IDE cable going *behind* the busboard.
-
- I also managed to break the power switch while trying to attach it to the front panel, and I
- have no idea where to put all of the LED cables and reset switch cable.
-
- To cap it all off, my accelerator card (a Blizzard 1230-IV (68030 @ 50 MHz) with 50 MHz 68882
- and 8 MB 60 ns RAM) is no longer recognised. :-(((
-
- Can anyone help?
-
- Thanks.
